Question:
YouTube videos just show up as a black screen?
?

I tried watching a few YouTube videos today but the space where the video should be was just black. No "error" warning or anything. Just black...there was nothing at the bottom where the little stream "play" thingy is. Everything else (comments, ads, etc.) is fine. Just the video. I've already tried to refresh it, but it didn't work and and I already have a Flash Player. Please help!

p.s. I have internet explorer 7 (or 8?), if that helps anything.

You don't need to install, disable, etc anything! I had the same problem and I just now figured out what to do soo trying to help.

Go to metacafe.com and type in whatever video it was you trying to view on youtube. It should give you the video from youtube without taking you to the site and it should let you view it that way. I believe there's some sort of glitch with the website because certain videos work, while others don't that gives a black screen and some times a pop-up appears saying "video is currently unavailable" if you click on other videos by user.

you need to re-install the flash (the correct way).

.. make sure all the browsers are NOT running during installation...

OR..

2. It could be due to slow connection or high traffic.

Try watching it during off peak hours, the video will be smoother.

Or you could watch it offline smoothly... try using 'zillatube' .

It works very well....just google search for "zillatube", and select the first search result for download...

Should you need to download a recent version of Adobe Falsh Player get it here: http://j.mp/1p3PjWC

You need to install the latest version of Adobe flash player to watch all the videos online, like on youtube, facebook and much more.

I hope it helps
