How to record xbox360 gameplay and tv to my computer, to upload yo youtube?

I'm looking for a way to record my gameplay while playing my xbox360, to post to YouTube.. While also using the same device to record any tv show, to save to my computer; to either view later or make a montage of nhl clips, etc.

A friend suggested Roxio Video Capture USB, however I don't believe that could record a tv show as well.

I have a standard definition television for the time being, until probably late September ..and do not have any sort of special cable.

Would I need any sort of splitter to capture a tv show, or is there a device out there to do what I want? Any help is greatly appreciated, thank you for viewing my question.
