Do you have stupid Google Web Accelerator (or something

similar to it)? If so, then dump it, burn it, trash it, disable it,

get rid of it, uninstall it -- do everything you can to get as far

away from it as possible. Trying to circumvent it by clicking

"Don't Accelerate this Website" will not help you at all.

That being said, my advice below may sound contradictory

to what I've just written above, but please follow it. (Pretend

it's 2007, and you had never installed GWA.)

If your YouTube is slow or stuck, or if you get messages on

your screen that are not true, or if people on Yahoo suggest

you either change or install stuff....DON'T TOUCH A THING!

You don't need to fool around with java scripts, flash players,

firewall settings, anti-virus utilities, active X controls, pop-up

blockers or different browsers. And definitely stay away from

downloaders and add-ons (like GWA).

None of those things will help you, because your computer

and YouTube were working perfectly fine at one point, right?

The first rule of thumb and best option should ALWAYS be:

don't disable, erase, uninstall, switch, download, alter, add,

change or install anything. That'll only make matters worse.

(GWA is a good example.)

When slow or weird things happen, clear your cache of all

its "temporary internet files", "cookies" and "history" rather

than compounding your problem with useless gizmos like

add-ons, utilities, downloaders and converters.

If you're not sure how to clear your "cache", or if you would

like extra tips on making YouTube run even better (without

having to buy or install anything), click my avatar and send

send me a message -- ideally with your YouTube or regular

email address. I will guide you step-by-step through "cache"

clearing plus my tips in plain English with full explanations.

Other than that, please note that there are some people on

Yahoo who are disguised salespeople vying for your dollars.

If someone's "answer" to your question is for you to acquire

something, please be aware that their replies probably have

nothing to do with your question and that their products may

actually worsen your problem. Besides, what kind of a boffo

answer is....[my paraphrase]: "Although you can't access or

even watch videos, get this downloader."

Note 1: an unusual fix that once worked for me was altering

the URL "www . youtube . com" to simply "youtube . com",

(or you can even try "ca . youtube . com").

For your reference, this is direct from Google's own website.

I have included the full URL web address, plus its direct link:

QUESTION 4 -- Does Google Web Accelerator speed up all

web pages?

ANSWER -- No, it doesn't....Google Web Accelerator won't

speed up pages encrypted with the HTTPS protocol. Also,

GWA only speeds up web pages, not data downloads such

as MP3 and streaming video files.

There is no definite answer to this. I suspect it has something to do with the ongoing war between Adobe and Apple (Apple refuses to use Flash on the iPhone, Adobe won't release a 64-bit version of CS4 for OS X, etc.). There really are no facts to back up this theory, but Mac users everywhere have been complaining for months about weird issues with Flash player, and these issues started immediately after Apple announced the iPhone was never going to support Flash. I'm fairly sure the issue also affects Safari in Windows. I actually had the problem a while back for about a week, but I can't remember how I fixed it.

If probably can' interpret the stream so instead of interpreting the video stream it takes it as a regular download, and probably downloaded the video to your computer.

Try a different browser or just download the video and play it with your media player.

Safari has been getting a lot of glitches lately. Wait a while and I'm sure they'll fix it soon.

YouTube was also doing a lot of maintenance on their site yesterday, maybe their still working on it and that's what's causing the problem.

Try refreshing the webpage

or...

Turn off web accelerator, if you have one - it may be conflicting with youtube.

or..

It could be due to slow connection or high traffic.

Try watching it during off peak hours, the video will be smoother.

Or you could watch it offline smoothly... try using 'zillatube' .

It works well - Just google search "zillatube" to get it.
