either change the format of the video (into .avi) or upload it as a flash vid

Did you make sure your video met the requirements?:

your video must meet the uploading requirements: no larger than 1GB and no more than 10 minutes in length. If your video does not meet these requirements you will need to re-edit the video file on your computer then upload the new file to the site.

Or maybe youtube doesnt support the file type your video is in this case you might have to convert it. You can go to http://www.mediaconverter.org/index.php and click "upload a video... from local hard disk" then click "choose file" and click your video file the click "next step" then click "select file type" and put it to "mp4" then click "next step" and dont do anything there and just click next step and when it finishes converting right click the icon and click "save as" or "save link as" then name watevr you want and then try uploading it to youtube. Hope this helps.

When the file cannot be converted or too small size, it means the file is in the wrong format...

Ensure the file format is correct before uploading to youtube...

Using windows movie maker -- you have to save it into the proper file format, that is "wmv" file (use the "save movie file" on the menu at the top left) before upload..

The WMV file will be smaller in size but still quite good quality.. so uploading it will be faster.

also some movie maker version requires to be published instead of save... for that, press "ctrl-p" to publish or search&select a publish option from the menu at the top of the program window.

--for best editing....

use windows movie maker (included in your windows machine)... it can help you make beautiful slideshow or video clip(e.g. mixing your songs with pictures/video/etc).... then save it as video file such as wmv file format... finally upload.

or .. Just get those clips you want , save & convert them, and then mix/match with pix/sound/etc using windows movie maker to create new masterpieces....

this will help you.... Use 'zillatube'. This is the easiest (and also the fastest) way.

Zillatube produces mpg/mp3 formats from youtube that are compatible with windows movie maker(or media player), and more.

It is very easy to download and convert videos. Then edit those converted mp3/mpg videos with windows movie maker... save your file as wmv and then upload.

It works very well....just google search for "zillatube"

first u need convert video to wmv for example

i use VidCrop - supports all the video formats depending on video codecs installed, so VidCrop can easily work with avi, asf, mp4, mpg, mpeg, mov, wmv and others. Re encoded output video file would be avi or wmv and it will be controlled with width, height, frames per second and other codec properties.

If you're using Movie Maker, you probably never finished the movie. You need to save your project as a movie before you can upload.
