I am looking at creating a video tutorial (demonstration how to create a particular digital effect within a few different programs including after effects) and would like to know what you think makes a good or a bad one.
what holds your attention.
what makes you close the entire browser, shut down the computer, run away and hide in a corner crying to yourself....
what would make you want to look at more tutorials from this person.
and anything else you can think of that you like or dislike in one of these video tutorials.
Thanks ♥ :)

1) Keep the video as short as possible, people have short attention spans.

2) Make sure you record in 720p or 1080p. People like HD because it looks prettier.

3) Make sure you have good microphone quality. No one likes background noise bleeding their ears.

4) Talk firmly and get straight to the point, don't use fill-ins (Um, Uh, etc.)

5) 1920x1080, 16:9.

6) A Good Intro is always a nice welcoming.

Know exactly what you're going to do and do a couple of practice runs. Avoid going "um" and "uh" and dont waste time talking about stuff unrelated to the video. A good guide is to watch adoseofbuckley's video about youtubers.

I think what ever you decide to do it will work on somebody because every body reacts different some people will have various views either way

Audio beats visual any day in tutorials. We need to be able to hear you more than see you. Also, for tutorials, when I search for them, I just want them to get to the point. Don't bore us with a minute long intro and a five minute explanation on what you're going to do. Just start the video "Hey guys, today I'm going to show you how to blah blah blah. Here's how.... Step 1:......"
