Why won't youtube videos load on my computer?

My mac all of a sudden stopped loading youtube videos. The ads work (sometimes) and i can watch videos off any other website (ie.vimeo) but the actual youtube video itself wont buffer. I cant click anywhere on the bar- nothing happens at all. I have uninstalled and reinstalled both firefox and chrome (its not working on either) and have done the same w adobe flash and java. i even called apple support and they had no idea what the problem was. Ive emptied out the cache/cookies and all that stuff and NOTHING has worked. can someone please help me?!!

Other possibilities + solutions:

-- Right-click any video, click "Settings" and uncheck "Enable Hardware Acceleration".

-- Disable any Adblocking software, play a video; then you can re-enable the Adblock.

-- There may be another Player set as 'default' (like Real Player or Mozilla Shumway).

   If that's the case, disable/uninstall it, and when you'd like it back, simply reinstall it.

-- Disable your AV utility while on YouTube, since you can't get a virus from YouTube.

-- You may unknowingly be using ''HTML5'' rather than "Flash''. To be sure, click here

   http://www.youtube.com/html5 and opt out.

I can likely figure out your issue but I'll definitely need more information. Usually we're dealing with Safari. I'm sure they've taken you through all the basic steps but just in case they haven't, go to the apple symbol in the top left - System preferences - Flash Player (bottom left) and if you're in the first tab you'll see something that says 'updates' and there's a recommended one, just make sure that's clicked. There will also be a 'check now' option and it'll search for the most up to date Flash player.



Assuming this is not the issue, and it's not working in Safari, next step is to try a test user. I definitely need more information so if you could email it'd help.
