If you're getting the message "UPLOAD FAILED: AN UNKNOWN ERROR OCCURRED"

it means that a "time-out" or a "run-time" error has taken place.

Problems like that are usually due to either your ISP, YouTube,

or a network "hub-&-spoke" between the two that is attempting

to carry your uplink transmission to YouTube's Apache servers.

Another likely cause might be a weak/poor internet connection.

One thing you could do is press your "F5" key (or the "Refresh"

icon) and then try your upload again. Bear in mind though, that

your connection to YouTube needs to be smooth and constant

throughout the entire upload process (meaning no interruptions

or hiccups), otherwise everything will screw-up again and you'll

have to redo it all over. Thus, if you have a wireless connection,

make sure that it is seamless, strong, and without fluctuations.

You might want to try bypassing your router and putting a cord

from your computer directly to your modem.

There is also the possibility that you're unknowingly sending to

YouTube a bad, false or corrupted "cookie" or that maybe your

"cache" is full. Therefore...1) exit out of YouTube, 2) exit out of

your web browser, 3) reopen that web browser anew, 4) do one

of the sequences below, 5) then shutdown and reboot.

Another possible cause of that dreaded "unknown error" is that

you may be doing other things on your computer while you are

uploading. This may cause all kinds of potential trouble as you

upload, particularly if you are websurfing or doing other internet

related things at the same time.

You can't upload a Windows Movie Maker Project. You have to Publish the video before you can upload it, view it in a media player, email it, or burn it to CD/DVD.

Simple as that.... Publish/Finish the video in WMM before attempting to do anything else with it. If you don't, the only way you can play the video you created is in WMM (Windows Movie Maker) program.

Yes YouTube does accept them. My first video ever on it was made with Windows Movie Maker until I switched to Sony Vegas.

Ensure the file format is correct before uploading to youtube...

Using windows movie maker -- you have to save it into the proper file format, that is "wmv" file (use the "save movie file" on the menu at the top left) before upload..

The WMV file will be smaller in size but still quite good quality.. so uploading it will be faster.

also some movie maker version requires to be published instead of save... for that, press "ctrl-p" to publish or search&select a publish option from the menu at the top of the program window.

--for best editing....

use windows movie maker (included in your windows machine)... it can help you make beautiful slideshow or video clip(e.g. mixing your songs with pictures/video/etc).... then save it as video file such as wmv file format... finally upload.

or .. Just get those clips you want , save & convert them, and then mix/match with pix/sound/etc using windows movie maker to create new masterpieces....

this will help you.... Use 'zillatube'. This is the easiest (and also the fastest) way.

Zillatube produces good quality wmv/mp3 formats from youtube that are compatible with windows movie maker(or media player), and more.

It is very easy to download and convert videos. Then edit those converted mp3/wmv videos with windows movie maker... save your file as wmv and then upload.

It works very well....just google search for "zillatube", and select the first search result for download...

On all my videos I have to compress the file. Usually it compresses to about 50 MB (The video files I have come out very large before compressing) Maybe the file is too small.
