I started a channel a few weeks ago and have been uploading content to it. I've gone to Reddit asking for feedback and that got me some views and positive responses, but I just don't understand how to expand my channel's viewership.

Well, I also have a YouTube channel. I had it since November 2010 but just started uploading about a month ago. I currently have 23 subscribers (I call my subs "Splatypi" in the "Splatypus Army" referring to the end of my username coltensplat). I do gaming videos, mainly horror games, influenced heavily by PewDiePie, but I also have some Minecraft videos to open up for channel collaboration to gain more traffic from their channel and possibly recommended videos on youtube. I also have a Facebook page, a Twitter page, and a website dedicated to my channel. This keeps my subs updated and possibly drives potential new subs like my friends who visit my page to my channel. I also upload every day, sometimes twice a day. I have a facecam in all of my vids (as of the first episode of Exmortis). I share my videos to Facebook, including both the page and my profile for friends, twitter for followers who aren't subbed, and I share them with small communities I'm a part of including a few pewdiepie community and PewDiePie's official website. However, do not resort to advertising in comments on other videos, unless they're yours. I think it's pretty rude actually, as you're taking someone else's viewers, and people just think you're a spammer and won't want to watch anyway. At the end of my videos, I remind everyone to subscribe so that they watch every video, and that I gain more subscribers. I get about 5 subscribers and almost 100 views each week. It's little, but it adds up. My current lifetime views is 750 (well 240 now since I set some of my older videos that became bigger to private). My average view count per video is 20. I also take advantage of tags and the description. Make use of tags! Set defaults for both your description and tags, and make sure to contain all the big keywords, such as your channel name, and as many little keywords, such as maybe influences or similar channels/videos. In you're description, include a reminder to subscribe, links to your pages/websites/topics, and on individual videos set a short 1-4 sentence description of the video. You also want to use a professional video editor. I use VideoPad as it is free and it is EXTREMELY useful. You want to upload in as high quality as you can. Don't know what else I should say. Sorry this is a little disorganized. Hope this helps!

If you do some gaming on your channel and want to collaborate on a few videos, skype me (coltensplat)

EDIT: I kind of disagree with Steven's answer as I have experience with those people that do this. I get inbox messages all the time asking me to see their videos and it's just annoying and it makes me not want to have anything to do with their channel in the future. And when you do upload a video, if you have the right tags, people will find your video through searches, recommended videos, etc. meaning your video isn't invisible (unless it's private of course). Just thought I should elaborate on that.

Be creative, original something people arnt gonna see anywhere else in your vids and getting your vids watched is all about advertising you can't just make a vid and people just automatically start watching it, you need to advertise your videos get it known message people with similar interest saying to watch your vids an if they like it tell them to tell there friends
