I logged on to YouTube and Instead of stars they have thumbs up. and the video page had a whole new layout. I was talking to my friend and he said nothing changed for him on YouTube. He asked me to give his video 5 stars and i told him YouTube does not use stars anymore, and he said yes it does i see stars right now. How do i get back to the regular YouTube? Im at the right web address http://www.youtube.com/

WELCOME TO THE NEWEST YOUTUBE THAT EVERYONE REALLY HATES:

However, you don't need to be ''stuck'' with

the new YouTube. If you got suckered into

updating your browser (thanks to YouTube

"scare tactics"), that's a shame - because

if you still had your ''old" browser, you'd be

still seeing the ''familiar'' YouTube. (My old

laptop with Win XP, IE 6, and Flash 9.0.47

still plays YouTube videos mighty fast and

in the "previous" YouTube format.) It's also

possible that the new "watchpage" version

is stuck in your "cookies'' or cache history.

Take a look at how I saved these people and got them their "old" YouTube back:

As such, exit out of your YouTube and the

browser; open a fresh version of that same

browser; do the steps in whichever applies

below; then shutdown/reboot:

Internet Explorer 6:

→ Tools → Internet Options

→ Delete Cookies → OK

→ Delete Files → OK

→ Clear History → Yes

→ OK

Internet Explorer 7:

→ Tools → Internet Options → Delete...

→ Delete cookies → OK

→ Delete history → OK

→ Close (browsing history window)

→ OK

Internet Explorer 8:

→ Tools → Delete Browsing History

[. ] Preserve Favorites (leave blank)

[x] Temporary Internet files

[x] Cookies

[x] History

→ Delete

Mozilla Firefox 3:

→ Tools → Clear Private Data

[x] Browsing History

[x] Download History

[x] Saved Form and Search History

[x] Cache

[x] Cookies

→ Clear Private Data Now

Mozilla Firefox 3.5/3.6:

→ Tools → Clear Recent History

Time range to clear: → Everything

▼ Details

[x] Browsing & Download History

[x] Saved Form and Search History

[x] Cookies

[x] Cache

→ Clear Now

Apple Safari 3:

→ Edit → Preferences

→ Security (tab) → Show Cookies

→ Remove All → Done

after that:

→ Safari → Empty Cache → Empty

after that:

→ History → Clear History

Apple Safari 4:

→ Safari → Reset Safari

[x] Clear history

[x] Empty the cache

[x] Clear the downloads window

[x] Remove all cookies

→ Reset

Google Chrome:

→ Tools (wrench) → Clear browsing data...

[x] Clear browsing history

[x] Clear download history

[x] Empty the cache

[x] Delete cookies

Clear data from this period: → Everything

→ Clear Browsing Data

DON'T FORGET TO "SHUTDOWN" & "REBOOT" AFTER DOING THE ABOVE.

You can also express you disapproval with the new YouTube "watchpage" here:

YouTube changed the whole layout. Maybe some people haven't gotten it yet, but everyone will get it eventually. You can change back to the old version, but I suggest you stick with the new layout. Here's the link to the page with the Opt-Out option.

I've heard a metalcore band cover Jessie J's "Do It Like A Dude". @APC - It's OK but Joey's vocals aren't nearly good enough for a Refused cover. Refused own.

It is unfortunately impossible to switch layouts and changes Youtube makes now. To make things idiotic enough, Youtube will not let us have a choice on which layout suits us best. So much for making the site's viewers welcome and joyful...

The same thing happened to me. Try logging out. If that doesn't work, try fiddling around with your options menu under your account. Even if you don't see what you're looking for, messing around with it may get it to return to the way it was.
