YouTube (as far as I know) doesn't really partner with anyone.

And creating a walkthrough is fine. You don't have to ask anyone. No commentary, commentary, annotations is all fine.

But certain ways of creating a walkthrough (ie. Commentary, Annotations, etc...) appeal to certain people.

Like I created a Fossil Fighters Champions walkthrough without any sort of annotations or commentary and this one guy really loved it because he could hear the music and another guy said I should add commentary.

It depends on your tastes.

I seriously have no clue why people answer these questions if they clearly have no clue.

YouTube Partnership is when someone with a YouTube channel applies for Partnership at http://www.youtube.com/partners . You have to get a lot of video views and use no copyright content. WHY WOULD YOU ANSWER THIS QUESTION if you don't even know what partnership is? *facepalm*

The correct answer to your question (from YouTube):

"Video game content may be monetized depending on the commercial use rights granted to you by licenses of video game publishers. Some video game publishers allow you to use all video game content for commercial use and state that in their license agreements. Likewise, videos showing software user interface may be monetized only if you have a contract with the publisher or you have paid a licensing fee.

Without the appropriate license from the publisher, use of video game or software user interface must be minimal. Video game content may be monetized if the associated step-by-step commentary is strictly tied to the live action being shown and provides instructional or educational value.

Videos simply showing a user playing a video game or the use of software for extended periods of time may not be accepted for monetization."

So yes, you can monetize video game footage if it is MINIMAL WITH COMMENTARY. You CANNOT monetize excessive gameplay, gameplay without any commentary etc. You also cannot monetize/partner any videos that contain music, even if it's in the video game.

Yes its fine to do walkthroughs for games that's no problem but if you happen to buy games before release dates and make a wakthrough it may get taken down just for the fact of the company not wanting spoilers
