If videos are flickering, shaking or jumping back-and-forth
from big to small or from top-left to bottom-right, perhaps
something is wrong with your Flash player, particularly if
you've got one of the newer Flashes.
There's no need to have the latest Flash player, because
nothing about watching videos on YouTube has changed
in the last 2 years. (Technically speaking, you could still
use Flash 8 if you wanted to.)
In fact, the more recent Flash players are causing plenty
of grief for lots of YouTubers -- especially the 11 versions
of "Flash 10". It is absolutely nuts that there should be a
10.0.525, 10.0.576, 10.1.218, 10.2.26, 10.2.54, 10.12.10,
10.12.36, 10.15.3, 10.22.87, 10.23.1 and 10.32.18. Most
updates are usually good for only 1 thing:..computer and
software conflicts.
I have never strayed away from 9.47, and many "flashers"
swear by 9.45. Think of those two Flashes like Windows
XP compared to Vista. Please take a look at the Asker's
comment below this previous Best Answer of mine, even
though his YouTube problem was not the same as yours:

Great help! ---- Uninstalled, rebooted and downgraded to 9.0.45....
and everything works as smooth as ever. ---- Thanks a million!
If that looks interesting to you, here's the appropriate link:

Because there was a lot of people in summer asking the
same thing as you, I did some Googling/researching and
reading about "flickering/shaking" videos -- and nearly all
of the discussion threads which I saw mentioned "nVidia"
drivers. Is it possible there's one installed on your comp?

If you are experiencing either: A) slugglish loading
or buffering, B) that "spinning circle" looking like it
could seemingly go on forever, C) "choppy" videos
that start/stop/start/stop frequently, or D) vids that
sometimes come to a complete stop, maybe your
cache/memory is full and thus can't take anymore.
Exit out of YouTube (but not your browser) and do
one of the steps below. Afterwards, shutdown and
reboot. Not only will this "unclog" your computer's
"cache", it will make everything "fresh", and faster:

DON'T FORGET TO SHUT DOWN AND REBOOT
AFTER DOING ONE OF THE ABOVE.
If you have other applications which are running at
the same time (such as "Torrents"), they will slow
down YouTube too.
